There’s always something special about Greenfield Village, but this weekend brings a meaningful new experience for families.
Celebrate the opening of the historic Jackson Home—an important Civil Rights landmark relocated from Selma, Alabama—during a special village-wide block party featuring live music, Southern-inspired food, shopping from Black-owned businesses, and more.
It’s a unique opportunity to mix summer family fun with a powerful walk through history.
Highlighted activities include:
- Extended village hours Friday and Saturday
- The Jackson Home Ribbon Cutting Ceremony
- Black-owned business market featuring 30+ vendors
- Musical performances and dance parties, featuring gospel, ragtime, blues, jazz, folk and contemporary music
- Guest speakers, panels, author talks and cooking demonstrations
