Food Tales: Anansi and the Talking Melon
This summer at Ford House, storytime comes with a side of art and a snack to match.
Every week, we’re reading a food-themed picture book and making art inspired by the story. A new book, a new project, a new reason to get a little messy. Children ages 4 and up are welcome.
This week’s pick is “Anansi and the Talking Melon,” retold by Eric A. Kimmel. A sneaky spider, a very opinionated piece of fruit, and a group of animals who really should have known better. After the story, children will create their own artwork inspired by that irresistible trickster.
Snacks are included, because of course they are.
This program is designed for children ages 4 and up. If your child is 3 or younger, the free Storytime on Tuesday mornings is a wonderful fit.
Date: Thursday, August 13, 10:30 AM – 11:30 AM
Cost: $5 – $7
